Improving the communication infrastructure of the Public Ministry (PÎCCJ, DNA and DIICOT)

 

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project will achieve the interconnection of all prosecution units regarding the level of the used applications and communication via the Internet, in order to ensure the basic elements for remote work.

This project of substantial improvement of the WAN communication system at the prosecutor's office level, is aimed to achieve the O2 and O5 specific objectives of the PNRR investments:  

  • O2. Increasing the resilience of the judicial system by modernizing the IT infrastructure at the central and local level (courts, prosecutors' offices, offices and other local structures), including by ensuring the technical infrastructure for remote work, digitizing documents (including archives), improving communications, ensuring the accessibility of services by people with disabilities, etc.;
     
  • O5. Modernization of technical equipment for video surveillance, audio and other critical processes (eg technological upgrade to increase the quality of forensic services, specialized video and audio surveillance equipment).
BENEFICIARY -The Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice
OBJECTIVE:
Increasing the data transmission capacity in the INTRANET/INTERNET networks (encrypted traffic) of the Public Ministry structures for the operation of centralized IT systems and other remote communication services used by the target group.
ACTIVITIES: 

Activity 1 - Substantial modernization of communications networks at the level of the Public Ministry (PÎCCJ, DNA and DIICOT)

1.1.  Purchase of the router-type IT equipment and included software licenses (249 complete, respectively 498 routers and connection accessories), necessary for their operation 

1.2. Implementation of the contract for the supply of router-type IT equipment and related licenses

Activity 2 - Auditing the achievement of the project result
RESULT – national level INTRANET/INTERNET communication networks re-engineered in prosecution units
 
INTENDED TARGET GROUP -The staff categories within the Public Ministry that benefit from access to data networks and IT services, as follows: prosecutors, clerks, specialists, civil servants, contractual staff and partially related staff.
 
IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: December 2022 – December 2025
 
FUNDING:
The total value of the project that is the subject of this financing contract is 8,339,521.19 RON, out of which the value of non-refundable external financing is 7,008,001 RON.
 
WHAT`S NEW
•  December 15, 2022  - SIGNING OF THE FINANCING CONTRACT between the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice
• January 26, 2023 - PRESS RELEASE regarding the beginning of the implementation of the financing contract "Improving the communication infrastructure of the Public Ministry (PÎCCJ, DNA and DIICOT)"
• February 9, 2024 – The practical training of users for the communication equipment (Juanuary 29 – February 2, 2024)
• July 1, 2024 - Completion of the configuration and installation phase of the new communications equipment at the national level
